If you read the word of God you will find no scripture to support the use of symbols or images or statues in our faith. In fact, God even warned us not to use images in His law. 

Exodus 20:4-5 "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeliness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, of that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the Father's upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me." 

And yet the Roman Catholic Church is FULL of these images, and symbols, and statues. And the leaders of this church have gone so far as to REMOVE the second commandment from the Catholic Catechism. Why is that? Because the Roman Catholic Church is built upon PAGANISM, and WORSHIP OF FALSE GODS. And the people of the Catholic Church need to be woke up to this fact. 

"The use of temples, and these dedicated to particular saints, and ornamented on occasions with branches of trees; incense, lamps, and candles; votive offerings on recovery from illness; holy water; asylums; holidays and seasons, use of calendars, processions, blessings on the fields; sacertodal vestments, the tonsure, the ring of marriage, turning the the East, images at a later date, perhaps the ecclesiastical chant, and the Kyrie Eleison are all of Pagan orgin, and sanctified by their adoption into the church." (An Essay on the Development of the Christian Doctrine; John Henry 'Cardinal Newman' p. 373) 

Let's draw some similarities in symbolism here. I really urge you to research these things and pray on them. The Pagan fish god Dagon wears a hat that looks just like the one the Pope wears. If you Google the symbol of the Sun god Shamash you'll also see that it is adorned on some of the hats the Pope wears. The solar wheel at the Vatican is again, a symbol of the Sun God. If you look at the sculpture of the Sun god Apollo on the temple at the Pergamon Museum it's one of the many symbols adorned in the Vatican. There is in fact a statue of a woman dearly holding this symbol at the Vatican. If you Google the Apis Bull (which is poosibly the image the jews made in gold at Sinai) you will see a bull with crescent moon horns holding a sun disc. If you look at some Egyptian artifacts you'll see many with a crescent moon holding a sun. If you look at Babylonian sun worship you'll see a crescent moon holding a sun. If you look at the Roman Catholic Moonstrance, the round wafer is held in a cescent moon. The Roman Catholic Church also has an altar with Mary and a sun disc inside a crescent moon. If you look at the some temples in Egypt you'll see what's called an Obelisk. The Egyptians embellished these in hieroglyphics, usually religious dedications to Ra, the sun god. If also look you can find an Obelisk at the Vatican. If you look at the Pagan goddess Isis with her child Horus you'll see she's wearing a sun disc in a crescent moon on her head. You can find a painting of Mary holding a child (supposedly Jesus) and you'll notice a sun disc above their heads. In the Pagan world this denotes sun worship. 

"It has often been charged that Catholicism is overlaid with many Pagan incrustations. Catholicism is ready to accept that acusation and even to make it her boast. The great god Pan is not really dead, he is baptized." (The Story of Catholicism, p. 37)

It is interesting to note how often our Church has availed herself of practices which were common among Pagans. This it is true, in a certain sense, that some Catholic rites and ceremonies are a reproduction of those Pagan creeds." The Catholic Church is no more than a mix of Pagan religions with Christianity, which is an abomination to our Holy God. Roman Catholicism is a false system to worship. God has told us in His Word that we are to worship HIM and Him alone. Without ANY idols or symbols. We are to worship him in spirit and in truth. We are to worship Him in line with His word alone. Any other form of worship is unacceptable. But the Bible reveals in the book of Revelation that the Roman Church is BABYLON, the MOTHER OF HARLOTS. She is a continuation of the old Babylonian system found in the Old Testament, which was the original reject or of God's truth in favor of worshipping false gods.
