 The Second Angels' Message

Revelation 14:8 "And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all her nations drink the wine of the wrath of her fornication." 

We see another warning of "Babylon" being fallen in Revelation 18:2-3 'And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean nation, and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have commited fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicasies.' Now the majority of people wrongly identify who Babylon is, and therefore cannot respond to this urgent message to come out of Babylon. I will discuss in another the interpretation of who 'The Whore Of Babylon' is. But in this interpretation you learn 'the MOTHER of harlots' is none other than the Roman Catholic Church. But is the pronouncement in Revelation 14:8 and Revelation 18:2 of Babylon now being 'fallen' and 'becoming' the habitation of every foul spirit, a pronouncement of the Roman Catholic Church? No. And I will tell you why. The fact that this call is to a 'body' that is become fallen, means at some point it was in good standing with God. The Roman Catholic Church has been in an apostate, 'fallen' condition right from the start. So to say the Roman Catholic Church is 'now fallen' and has 'become' the habitation of devils, is just the same as saying Paganism or Hinduism or any other false religion has 'become fallen.' And as we know that is not possible, because false religions have always been a habitation of devils. "The message of Revelation 14, announcing the fall of Babylon must apply to religious bodies that were once pure and have become corrupt. Since this message follows the warning of judgement, it must be given in the last days; therefore it cannot refer to the Roman Church alone, for that church has been in a fallen condition for many centuries" (Great Controversy p.382-383) 

So this specific end time call for God's people to come out of Babylon isn't a specific message for just the Roman Catholic Church or any other false religion. Because it's always been the call for people to come out of false religion, and to turn to the one true God. No, this call is specific for God's very own people to come out of a 'body' that has BECOME the habitation of every foul spirit. And what 'body's is that? The fallen Protestant churches, which have rejected the truth and are uniting in this ecumenical movement with the 'mother whore', the Roman Catholic Church. 

What is the ROOT cause of the fall of the Protestant churches? Let's see what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:4-7 "For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?" This is exactly what the fallen churches have done. They have followed after MAN and the TRADITIONS of man, rather than following God and His truth alone. And many will be lost because of this. Christ must be our leader, not man. 

The churches have progressively been falling further into and apostasy by 'fornicating' with the world and allowing the heathen world to influence their "worship." Part of this is the apostasy teaching that we can be saved IN our sins, when the Bible clearly states that Jesus saves us FROM our sins. In other words, when we truly come to Christ and accept his righteousness for salvation, the evidence of our true faith is turning away from our sinful nature and keeping the commandments of God. The third angel confirms that the true saints are those who are keeping God's commandments through Jesus Christ IN them. Thus they are accounted 'righteous' before God in Jesus. Any unity with fallen churches is a rejection of God's truth and will see us receive the plagues. So this is a vital message to heed.
