Expounding The Commandments Pt. 4

Guide #4: Expounding The 4th Commandment

Welcome to the fourth part of the Expounding the Commandments Guide. In this guide we are going to cover the 4th commandment. Though we have expounded on the Sealing of the Shabbat. We are going to reiterate once again the importance of keeping this commandment. Let's begin by reestablishing the 4th commandment.

(Exodus 20:8-11) "Remember the day of the Shabbath, to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: But the seventh day is the Shabbath of Yahuah Elohayka: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: For in six days Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahuah blessed the day of Shabbath, and hallowed it." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 20:8-11 את CEPHER

Let's learn about the Shabbat. Beginning in the Torah. Why is the Shabbat such an important day in the first place? Well, to understand what this day is truly about, and why it is so important that we observe it, we must start in the book of Genesis. At creation week. The most important week in the history of history!

(Genesis 2:2-3) "And on the seventh day Elohiym ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And Elohiym blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohiym created and made." BERE'SHIYTH (GENESIS) 2:2-3 את CEPHER.

YaHUaH spent 6 days creating the heavens and the earth and everything therein and on the 7th day he rested from all of his works. And because he rested on that 7th day he hallowed it, meaning he made it holy, and he sanctified this day. He set this day apart.

(Exodus 31:13-16) "Speak also unto the children of Yashar'el, saying, Truly my Shabbaths ye shall guard: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Yahuah Meqoddishkem (YaHUaH who sanctifies you.) Ye shall guard the Shabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: everyone that defiles it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever does any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Shabbath of rest, holy to Yahuah: whosoever does any work in the Shabbath, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Yashar'el shall guard the Shabbath, to do the Shabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 31:13-16 את CEPHER

(Exodus 35:2) "Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a Shabbath of rest to Yahuah: whosoever does work therein shall be put to death." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 35:2 את CEPHER.

(Leviticus 19:3) "Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and guard my Shabbaths: I am Yahuah Elohaykem. VAYIQRA (LEVITICUS) 19:3 את CEPHER.

(Leviticus 19:30) "Ye shall guard my Shabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Yahuah." VAYIQRA (LEVITICUS) 19:30 את CEPHER.

(Leviticus 23:3) "Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Shabbath of rest, a holy assembly; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Shabbath of Yahuah in all your dwellings." VAYIQRA (LEVITICUS) 23:3 את CEPHER.

(Deuteronomy 5:12) "Guard the day of the Shabbath; to sanctify it as Yahuah Elohayka has commanded you." DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 5:12 את CEPHER.

(Deuteronomy 5:12-15) "Guard the day of the Shabbath; to sanctify it as Yahuah Elohayka has commanded you. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work: But the seventh day is the Shabbath of Yahuah Elohayka: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates; that your manservant and your maidservant may rest as well as you. And remember that you were a servant in the land of Mitsrayim, and that Yahuah Elohayka brought you out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore Yahuah Elohayka commanded you to observe the day of Shabbath." DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 5:12-15 את CEPHER.

Now here is where things begin to get interesting. All throughout YaHUaH's word it tells us why these things happen. Why the children are led astray. Why they are led into captivity. Why they are forsaken. Why bad things, and tribulation, and affliction happens. Beginning in the book of Jubilees.

(Jubilees 1:9-13) "And they will eat and be satisfied, and they will turn to strange elohiym, to elohiym which cannot deliver them from ought of their tribulation: and this witness shall be heard for a witness against them. For they will forget all my commandments, even all that I command them, and they will walk after the other nations, and after their uncleanness, and after their shame, and will serve their elohiym, and these will prove unto them an offence and a tribulation and an affliction and a snare. And many will perish and they will be taken captive, and will fall into the hands of the enemy, because they have forsaken my ordinances and my commandments, and the feasts of my covenant, and my Shabbaths, and my holy place which I have sanctified for myself in their midst, and my Tabernacle, and my sanctuary, which I have sanctified for myself in the midst of the land, that I should set my name upon it, and that it should dwell there. And they will make to themselves high places and Asherah poles and graven images, and they will worship, each his own graven image, so as to go astray, and they will sacrifice their children to devils, and to all the works of the error of their hearts. And I will send witnesses unto them, that I may witness against them, but they will not hear, and will slay the witnesses also, and they will persecute those who seek the Torah, and they will abrogate and change everything so as to work evil before my eyes." YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 1:9-13 את CEPHER.

(Jubilees 1:15) "And they will forget all my Torah and all my commandments and all my judgments, and will go astray as to New Moons, and Shabbaths, and feasts, and jubilees, and ordinances." YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 1:15 את CEPHER.

(Jubilees 2:1) "AND the angel of the presence spoke to Mosheh according to the Word of Yahuah, saying: Write the complete history of the creation, how in six days Yahuah Elohiym finished all his works and all that he created, and kept Shabbath on the seventh day and sanctified it for all ages, and appointed it as a sign for all his works." YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 2:1 את CEPHER.

(Jubilees 2:18-22) "And he gave us a great sign, the Shabbath, that we should work six days, but guard the Shabbath on the seventh day from all work. And all the angels of the presence, and all the angels of sanctification, these two great classes he has bidden us to guard the Shabbath with him in heaven and on earth. And he said unto us: Behold, I will separate unto myself a people from among all the peoples, and these shall guard the Shabbath, and I will sanctify them unto myself as my people, and will bless them; as I have sanctified the Shabbath and do sanctify it unto myself, even so will I bless them, and they shall be my people and I will be their Elohiym. And I have chosen the seed of Ya`aqov from amongst all that I have seen, and have written him down as my firstborn son, and have sanctified him unto myself forever and ever; and I will teach them the Shabbath, that they may guard the Shabbath thereon from all work. And thus he created therein a sign in accordance with which they should guard the Shabbath with us on the seventh day, to eat and to drink, and to bless him who has created all things as he has blessed and sanctified unto himself a peculiar people above all peoples, and that they should guard the Shabbath together with us." YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 2:18-22 את CEPHER.

We also learn how YaHUaH passed the Shabbat down through the generations. (If you want the full story I HIGHLY recommend reading the book of Jubilees.) We also learn a little better how YaHUaH wants us to observe this day. And why he shared this day with man.

(Jubilees 2:25-33) "And to this Ya`aqov and his seed it was granted that they should always be the blessed and qodeshiym of the first testimony and Torah, even as he had sanctified and blessed the Shabbath on the seventh day. He created heaven and earth and everything that he created in six days, and Elohiym made the seventh day holy, for all his works; therefore he commanded on its behalf that, whosoever does any work thereon shall die, and that he who defiles it shall surely die. Wherefore do you command the children of Yashar'el to observe this day that they may keep it holy and not do thereon any work, and not to defile it, as it is holier than all other days. And whosoever profanes it shall surely die, and whosoever does thereon any work shall surely die eternally, that the children of Yashar'el may observe this day throughout their generations, and not be rooted out of the land; for it is a holy day and a blessed day. And everyone who observes it and guards Shabbath thereon from all his work, will be holy and blessed throughout all days like unto us. Declare and say to the children of Yashar'el the Torah of this day both that they should guard the Shabbath thereon, and that they should not forsake it in the error of their hearts; and that it is against the Torah to do any work thereon which is unseemly, to do thereon their own pleasure, and that they should not prepare thereon anything to be eaten or drunk, and that it is against the Torah to draw water, or bring in or take out thereon through their gates any burden, which they had not prepared for themselves on the sixth day in their dwellings. And they shall not bring in nor take out from house to house on that day; for that day is more holy and blessed than any jubilee day of the jubilees; on this we kept Shabbath in the heavens before it was made known to any flesh to guard the Shabbath thereon on the earth. And the Creator of all things blessed it, but he did not sanctify all peoples and nations to guard the Shabbath thereon, but Yashar'el alone: them alone he permitted to eat and drink and to guard the Shabbath thereon on the earth. And the Creator of all things blessed this day which he had created for blessing and holiness and glory above all days. This Torah and testimony was given to the children of Yashar'el as a Torah forever unto their generations YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 2:25-33 את CEPHER.

We also learn how and why things got so discombobulated. The calendar, the days, the months, everything. The children went astray and lost track of everything. Then because of their negligence AND ignorance much of the original texts, calendars, etc. were destroyed.

(Jubilees 6:32-38) "And command you the children of Yashar'el that they observe the years according to this reckoning three hundred and sixty four days, and these will constitute a complete year, and they will not disturb its time from its days and from its feasts; for everything will fall out in them according to their testimony, and they will not leave out any day nor disturb any feasts. But if they do neglect and do not observe them according to his commandment, then they will disturb all their seasons and the years will be dislodged from this order, and they will disturb the seasons and the years will be dislodged and they will neglect their ordinances. And all the children of Yashar'el will forget and will not find the path of the years, and will forget the New Moons, and seasons, and Shabbaths and they will go wrong as to all the order of the years. For I know and from henceforth will I declare it unto you, and it is not of my own devising; for the cepher lies written before me, and on the heavenly tablets the division of days is ordained, lest they forget the feasts of the covenant and walk according to the feasts of the other nations after their error and after their ignorance. For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon how it disturbs the seasons and comes in from year to year ten days too soon. For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb the order, and make an abominable day the day of testimony, and an unclean day a feast day, and they will confound all the days, the holy with the unclean, and the unclean day with the holy; for they will go wrong as to the months and Shabbaths and feasts and jubilees. For this reason I command and testify to you that you may testify to them; for after your death your children will disturb them, so that they will not make the year three hundred and sixty four days only, and for this reason they will go wrong as to the New Moons and seasons and Shabbaths and feasts, and they will eat all kinds of blood with all kinds of flesh." YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 6:32-38 את CEPHER.

Then after many centuries of confusion, and deceit, and lies being spread, the Truth is restored. There comes a generation that accuses their parents and their elders of their transgressions. They will strive on account of the Torah and the covenant.

(Jubilees 23:19) "And they shall strive one with another, the young with the old, and the old with the young, the poor with the rich, the lowly with the great, and the beggar with the prince, on account of the Torah and the covenant; for they have forgotten commandment, and covenant, and feasts, and months, and Shabbaths, and jubilees, and all judgments." YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 23:19 את CEPHER.

(Jubilees 50:6-13) "And behold the commandment regarding the Shabbaths I have written them down for you and all the judgments of its Torah. Six days shall you labor, but on the seventh day is the Shabbath of Yahuah Elohaykem. In it ye shall do no manner of work, ye and your sons, and your menservants and your maidservants, and all your cattle and the sojourner also who is with you. And the man that does any work on it shall die: whosoever desecrates that day, whosoever lies with his woman, or whosoever says he will do something on it, that he will set out on a journey thereon in regard to any buying or selling: and whosoever draws water thereon which he had not prepared for himself on the sixth day, and whosoever takes up any burden to carry it out of his tent or out of his house shall die. Ye shall do no work whatsoever on the Shabbath save what ye have prepared for yourselves on the sixth day, so as to eat, and drink, and rest, and guard the Shabbath from all work on that day, and to bless Yahuah Elohaykem, who has given you a day of feast and a holy day: and a day of the holy Kingdom for all Yashar'el is this day among their days forever. For great is the honor which Yahuah has given to Yashar'el that they should eat and drink and be satisfied on this feast day, and rest thereon from all labor which belongs to the labor of the children of men save burning frankincense and bringing oblations and sacrifices before Yahuah for days and for Shabbaths. This work alone shall be done on the Shabbath in the sanctuary of Yahuah Elohaykem; that they may atone for Yashar'el with sacrifice continually from day to day for a memorial well pleasing before Yahuah, and that he may receive them always from day to day according as you have been commanded. And every man who does any work thereon, or goes on a journey, or tills his farm, whether in his house or any other place, and whosoever lights a fire, or rides on any beast, or travels by ship on the sea, and whosoever strikes or kills anything, or slaughters a beast or a bird, or whosoever catches an animal or a bird or a fish, or whosoever fasts or makes war on the Shabbaths: The man who does any of these things on the Shabbath shall die, so that the children of Yashar'el shall observe the Shabbaths according to the commandments regarding the Shabbaths of the land, as it is written in the caphire stones, which he gave into my hands that I should write out for you the Torah of the seasons, and the seasons according to the division of their days. Herewith is completed the account of the division of the days." YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 50:6-13 את CEPHER.

We also learn these same things from the prophets. There were many more scriptures I could have chosen as well, but, we'd be here all day. Let's hear what the Prophets have to tell us regarding the Shabbat.

(Isaiah 1:13) "Bring no more an oblation of evil incense; it is an abomination to me; No longer proclaim the Shabbath and the feasts, and the festivals; they are in vain." YESHA'YAHU (ISAIAH) 1:13 את CEPHER.

If you've watched any of the Series I created about Isaiah you'll understand why these things are vain. For those of you who are new, they are in vain because the children weren't being led by the Ruach. They were being led by their own desires. They would go to the mountains and burn incense and sacrifice to Ba`al. Then come into YaHUaH's Temple, do a sin sacrifice and act like nothing happened. Then go do it again tomorrow. They kept the Shabbat and the Feast days because they had to. Or to boast. Not because they loved YaHUaH. They fasted to boast about their works. Not to purify themselves. They were double minded. Living double lives. Kinda like today. How people say that the Law is too hard and that Messiah kept it for them. Then they use it to justify living in sin. It's the same thing. History repeats itself brothers and sisters. What else does Isaiah say about the Shabbat?

(Isaiah 56:2-6) "Blessed is the man that does this, and the son of A'dam that lays hold on it; that guards the Shabbath from polluting it, and guards his hand from doing any evil. Neither let the son of the stranger, that has joined himself to El-Yahuah, speak, saying, Yahuah has utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. For thus says Yahuah unto the eunuchs that guard my Shabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to Yahuah, to serve him, and to love the name of Yahuah, to be his servants, everyone that guards the Shabbath from polluting it, and takes hold of my covenant." YESHA'YAHU (ISAIAH) 56:2-6 את CEPHER.

(Isaiah 58:13) "If you turn away your foot from the Shabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Shabbath a delight, the holy of Yahuah, honorable; and shall honor him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words." YESHA'YAHU (ISAIAH) 58:13 את CEPHER.

(Isaiah 66:22-24) "For as the renewed heavens and the renewed earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, says Yahuah, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from New Moon to his New Moon, and from Shabbath to his Shabbath, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says Yahuah. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh." YESHA'YAHU (ISAIAH) 66:22-24 את CEPHER.

We learn more instruction about how YaHUaH wants us to observe the Shabbat through Jeremiah.

(Jeremiah 17:21-17) "Thus says Yahuah; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the Shabbath, nor bring it in by the gates of Yerushalayim; Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the Shabbath, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the day of Shabbath, as I commanded your fathers. But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction. And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, says Yahuah, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Shabbath, but hallow the day of Shabbath, to do no work therein; Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Yahudah, and the inhabitants of Yerushalayim: and this city shall remain forever. And they shall come from the cities of Yahudah, and from the places about Yerushalayim, and from the land of Binyamiyn, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the Negev, bringing ascending smoke offerings, and sacrifices, and oblations, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of Yahuah. But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the day of Shabbath, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Yerushalayim on the Shabbath; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Yerushalayim, and it shall not be quenched." YIRMEYAHU (JEREMIAH) 17:21-27 את CEPHER.

The Shabbat is a sign brothers and sisters. Between us and him. Not just that he created the world and rested on the 7th day but, also the covenant we've entered with him and also his promise to come.

(Ezekiel 20:12-13) "Moreover also I gave them my Shabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahuah that sanctify them. But the house of Yashar'el rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my Shabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them." YECHEZQ'EL (EZEKIEL) 20:12-13 את CEPHER.

(Ezekiel 20:16-24) "Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my Shabbaths: for their heart went after their idols. Nevertheless my eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness. But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: I am Yahuah Elohaykem; walk in my statutes, and guard my judgments, and do them; And hallow my Shabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am Yahuah Elohaykem. Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither guarded my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my Shabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth. I lifted up my hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries; Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my Shabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols." YECHEZQ'EL (EZEKIEL) 20:16-24 את CEPHER.

(2 Baruk 84:7-9) "Moreover, let this cepher be for a testimony between me and you, that ye may remember the commandments of El Elohiym, and that also there may be to me a defence in the presence of him who sent me. And remember ye the Torah and Tsiyon, and the holy land and your brethren, and the covenant of your fathers, and forget not the feasts and the Shabbaths. And deliver ye this cepher and the Truth of the Torah to your sons after you, as also your fathers delivered them to you." BARUK SHENIY (2 BARUK) 84:7-9 את CEPHER.

(Nehemiah 9:13-14) "You came down also upon Mount Ciynai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments: And made known unto them your Holy Shabbath, and commanded them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Mosheh your servant." EZRA V'NECHEMYAHU, (NEHEMIAH) 9:13-14 את CEPHER.

You gave them right judgments, true laws, good statutes and commandments. There is nothing wrong with the Law. The Law is good, and true, and righteous.

(1 Maccabees 1:41-50) "Moreover King Antiochus wrote to his whole kingdom, that all should be one people, And everyone should leave his laws: so all the heathen agreed according to the commandment of the king. Yea, many also of Yashar'el consented to his religion, and sacrificed unto idols, and profaned the Shabbath. For the king had sent cepheriym by messengers unto Yerushalayim and the cities of Yahud that they should follow the strange laws of the land, And forbid ascending smoke offerings, and sacrifice, and drink offerings, in the Temple; and that they should profane the Shabbaths and feast days: And pollute the sanctuary and holy people. Set up altars, and Asherah poles, and chapels of idols, and sacrifice swine's flesh, and unclean beasts: That they should also leave their children uncircumcised, and make their souls abominable with all manner of uncleanness and profanation: To the end they might forget the Torah, and change all the ordinances. And whosoever would not do according to the commandment of the king, he said, he should die." MAKKABIYM RI'SHON (1 MACCABEES) 1:41-50 את CEPHER.

The king deceived the people into disregarding the Law of Elohiym and follow the laws and commands of the king instead. The king sent word even to the land of Judea. That all should follow the king. We saw Nebuchadnezzar do the exact same thing. The heathen did this on purpose out of fear. They didn't want their people to look like the people of Judah. So he convinced them to worship false elohyim, and set up altars to them and Asherah poles, sacrifice idols and unclean beasts. So they may forget the Torah and change the ordinances. And if you didn't go with it they killed you.

Finally let's talk about what our Messiah said regarding the Shabbat. As many know Yahusha was accused many times of breaking tradition. But, what tradition was he breaking? The Law of Elohiym or the traditions of men? Let's check it out.

(Matthew 12:1-8) "AT that time Yahusha went on the Shabbath through the fields; and his Talmidiym were hungry, and began to pluck the heads of grain, and to eat. But when the Parashiym saw it, they said unto him, Behold, your Talmidiym do that את which is not Lawful to do upon the Shabbath. But he said unto them, Have ye not read את what David did, when he was hungry, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of Elohiym, and did eat the showbread, which was not Lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the Torah, how that on the Shabbaths the priests in the Temple profane the Shabbaths, and are blameless? But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the Temple. But if ye had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned את the guiltless. For Yahuah is the essence, and the Shabbath; the Son of A'dam." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 12:1-8 את CEPHER

This is one of 2 occasions in this specific chapter where the Pharisee's try to accuse YaHUsHa of breaking the Shabbat. Here, the first instance he and his Disciples are walking through the fields and they plucked some grain to eat. Same as if you walked past a blueberry or blackberry bush and plucked a couple as you passed by. And the Pharisee's (who created their own stipulations about the Shabbat) said is it Lawful for you to do that on the Shabbat? Trying to accuse him. To which he said have you not read of David? How when he was hungry and those he had with him, how he entered the house of Elohiym and ate the show bread. The bread that was specifically reserved and sanctified for the priests. On the Shabbat. He nor the men with him were supposed to eat this bread. Or he said, have you not read in the Torah how the priests in the Temple profane the Shabbat and are blameless? Once again if you've watched my Series on Isaiah we talk about this a lot. The double minded people who were serving Ba`al then coming into the Temple and acting like YaHUaH doesn't know they serve 2 masters. Are you greater than the Temple of Elohiym? Are you above it? Above the Law? If they understood their man made traditions made the Law useless they would have learned mercy instead of continuing to sacrifice. They wouldn't have condemned guiltless people. Like the Prophets. YaHUaH IS the essence of the Shabbat. It's all about him! Our relationship with him and all the wonderful and amazing things he's done! It's also a hope of our promise that is to come. It all points back to him, our Abba. YaHUaH Tseva'oth.

(Matthew 12:10-14) "And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it Lawful to heal on the Shabbaths? that they might accuse him. And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the Shabbath, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is Lawful to do well on the Shabbaths. Then says he to the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. Then the Parashiym went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 12:10-14 את CEPHER.

This other occasion there was a man who hand was withered. He had some kind of disease with his hand. For it to be withered maybe some form of arthritis or something? Anyways, the Pharisee's asked him, so they could accuse him, if it was Lawful to heal on the Shabbat? To which YaHUsHa says if one if your sheep falls into a pit are you going to leave it there because it's the Shabbat? It is Lawful to do good on the Shabbat. And he healed the man's hand. Again we see the account where YaHUsHa and his Disciples plucked grain on the Shabbat be mentioned again in the book of Mark.

(Mark 2:23-28) "And it came to pass, that he went through the fields on the Shabbath; and his Talmidiym began, as they went, to pluck the heads of grain. And the Parashiym said unto him, Behold, why do they on the Shabbath את that which is not Lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of Elohiym in the days of Avyathar the high priest, and did eat the showbread, which is not Lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The Shabbath was made for man, and not man for the Shabbath: Therefore the Son of A'dam is Adonai also of the Shabbaths." MARQUS (MARK) 2:23-28 את CEPHER.

The Shabbat was made for us! For us to rest, not just physically rest. But, to rest in YaHUaH. In his Word, in his comfort, and strength, and to rest in assurance that he will fulfill his promise. The Shabbat is all about honoring YaHUaH and loving him. Therefore YaHUsHa is the King of the Shabbat. Because he brought that honor and glory back to his Father's name and character. And he taught the children to do so as well. He came and restored the paths. He made the crooked ways straight again. The following chapter in Mark, Chapter 3 tells us again about the man with the withered hand. Luke Chapter 6 also recounts this for us as well. Finally let's see what the book of Luke tells us.

(Luke 13:10-17) "And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Shabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a ruach of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Yahusha saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified Elohiym. And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Yahusha had healed on the Shabbath, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the Shabbath. Adonai then answered him, and said, You hypocrite, do not each one of you on the Shabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Avraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Shabbath? And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him." LUQAS (LUKE) 13:10-17 את CEPHER.

Here YaHUsHa was teaching on the Shabbat and a woman who was hunched over and had been taken over with evil ruachoth was in the synagogue. YaHUsHa saw this woman and called her over. Then he laid his hands on her and healed her. To which the Pharisee's said, "Hey, there is 6 days to come and be healed. Don't come on the Shabbat to be healed." YaHUsHa told them what hypocrites they were. He said on the Shabbat do you lead your ass or ox to water? Something they need everyday? So ought not this woman, who is a daughter of Abraham, and who has been bound up by Satan for 18 years not be loosed of her bondage? On the Shabbat? The day that is all about YaHUaH and his amazing goodness!

And lastly (Luke 14:1-6) "AND it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Parashiym to eat bread on the Shabbath, that they watched him. And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy. And Yahusha answering spoke unto the lawyers and Parashiym, saying, Is it Lawful to heal on the Shabbath? And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go; And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the Shabbath? And they could not answer him again to these things." LUQAS (LUKE) 14:1-6 את CEPHER.

YaHUsHa goes into the house of one of the cheif Pharisee's to eat bread, and they watched him. There happened to be a man there who was dropsy. And YaHUsHa looked at them at said "Is it Lawful to heal on the Shabbat?" Mocking them. And they held their peace and didn't answer him. So YaHUsHa took the man and healed him. And said if you have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, would you not pull him out because it's the Shabbat? And they had nothing to say to him. Because they knew he was right. YaHUsHa never broke the Shabbat. YaHUsHa never broke the Commandments. What he broke was the man made traditions of the Talmud. The Babylonian Talmud. Which is still used by the Rabbi's to this day.

That concludes Part 4 of the Commandments Guide. I hope that this section along with the Sealing of the Shabbat and Disclosing the Lunar Shabbat is very insightful for you. Part 5 will pick up with Commandments 5 & 6.
