Expounding The Commandments Pt. 7
Guide #7: Expounding The 8th Commandment
**PART 7 THE 8TH COMMANDMENT**
Welcome to Part 5 of Expounding The Commandments! In this section of the guide we are going to discuss and break down the 8th Commandment. First, let's begin by reiterating this Command.
(Exodus 20:15) "You shall not steal." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 20:15 את CEPHER
Stealing, we are commanded to not steal. Let's dig deeper starting in the Torah.
(Exodus 21:16) "And he that steals a man, and sells him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 21:16 את CEPHER
If you stole and man and you sold him, and you got caught the punishment was death. And if we think about it, this is still going on. People are stolen and sold every single day. Human trafficking is huge. It is a global issue and it is the highest paid industry in the world. Pulling in even more revenue than the Sex Industry. These people, steal people, mostly children, and then sell them. For money, drugs, sex, you name it. This is a very real issue that needs to be brought into the light.
(Exodus 22:1-4) "IF a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 22:1-4 את CEPHER
Here we learn instruction about a thief stealing your cattle. If he steals your Ox and sells it he shall repay you with 5 Oxen for your 1, and if he steals your sheep and sells it he shall repay you 4 sheep for your 1. And if you catch the thief in the act and he is smitten and dies then no blood shall be shed for him. The debt is paid. If the sun rises upon him there shall be blood shed for him, once the sun is upon the theif he must be taken alive, he will have to make a full restitution. And if the theif is found alive then restore double of whatever he took.
(Exodus 22:7-9) "If a man shall deliver unto his neighbor money or stuff to guard, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double. If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbor's goods. For all manner of transgression, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challenges to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbor." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 22:7-9 את CEPHER
Next we see that if you ask your neighbor to hold on to something for you and it's stolen, if the theif is found he must pay double. And if the theif isn't found the master of the house must be brought before the judges to see whether the neighbor is the theif. For all manner of transgression, when another accuses someone of having something of his they both must come before the judges and whoever the judges condemn shall pay double.
(Leviticus 19:11) "Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another." VAYIQRA (LEVITICUS) 19:11 את CEPHER
(Deuteronomy 5:19) "Neither shall you steal." DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 5:19 את CEPHER
(Deuteronomy 24:7) "If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Yashar'el, and makes merchandise of him, or sells him; then that thief shall die; and you shall put evil away from among you." DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 24:7 את CEPHER
Next let's dive into what the Prophets have to say on this matter.
(Jeremiah 7:9-11) "Will ye steal, kill, and break wedlock, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Ba`al, and walk after other elohiym whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do את all these abominations? Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, says Yahuah." YIRMEYAHU (JEREMIAH) 7:9-11 את CEPHER
Remember I told you in the previous section of this guide, the children were going up into the hills, to the pagan temples they made, and burning incense to Ba`al. And walking after other elohiym. Then they would come into the Most High's Tabernacle and make a sin offering and act like all was good. Then go do it all again tomorrow like YaHUaH doesn't see them. They'd become a den of robbers, wolves dressed in sheep's clothing.
(Jeremiah 2:26-28) "As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Yashar'el ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets, Saying to a stock, You are my father; and to a stone, You have brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. But where are your elohiym that you have made? let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble: for according to the number of your cities are your elohiym, O Yahudah." YIRMEYAHU (JEREMIAH) 2:26-28 את CEPHER
YaHUaH compares the shame of Yashar'el to shame of a theif who has been caught. They say to a stone "you brought me forth." (Those who worship and pray to crystals.) But in their time of trouble they will call out for YaHUaH and say "save us!" Where are your elohiym? Your stones and images? Let them arise and save you. If they can save you in your time of trouble (Jacob's Trouble.) They worshipped as many false elohyim as they had cities.
(Jeremiah 23:30) "Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says Yahuah, that steal my words everyone from his neighbor." YIRMEYAHU (JEREMIAH) 23:30 את CEPHER
YaHUaH is against those who prophesy falsely. Who steal his words. Hm? Could this be talking aboit those who erred in the transcribing of his word? Those who removed certain books? Those who changed pieces of the scriptures? Those who TOOK out his name and replaced it with Ba`al?! Those who in the latter would end up destroying many of the scriptures and taking peooles Bibles? And what about those who only tell half of the Truth? Like religion. Like Christianity and Judaism do? Their priests are stealing the Truth and only telling part of it. It certainly sounds like it talking about these people to me.
(Hosea 4:1-2) "HEAR the Word of Yahuah, ye children of Yashar'el: for Yahuah has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of Elohiym in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and breaking wedlock, they break out, and blood touches blood." HUSHA (HOSEA) 4:1-2 את CEPHER
(Hosea 7:1-2) "WHEN I would have healed Yashar'el, then the iniquity of Ephrayim was discovered, and the wickedness of Shomeron: for they commit falsehood; and the thief comes in, and the troop of robbers spoils without. And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face." HUSHA (HOSEA) 7:1-2 את CEPHER
(Zechariah 5:3) "Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth: for everyone that steals is innocent according to her; and everyone that swears is innocent according to her." ZAKARYAHU (ZECHARIAH) 5:3 את CEPHER
The curse is exactly what we see in this world. We see liars and theives, and false accusers go about in this world. Granted yes, some of them are stopped. But, look how many roam free. Look at Hollywood, look at Washington D.C., look at the most powerful people in this world. They all do these horrible things yet, they're made very great in this world while we suffer. That is part of the curse. YaHUaH has given us into their hand. We are their captives, their slaves if you will.
Time to get into the writings. The Writings have quite a few things to say on this matter.
(Psalms 50:16-18) "But unto the wicked Elohiym says, What have you to do to declare my statutes, or that you should take my covenant in your mouth? Seeing you hate instruction, and cast my words behind you. When you saw a thief, then you consented with him, and have been partaker with those who break wedlock." TEHILLIYM (PSALMS) 50:16-18 את CEPHER
(Proverbs 6:30-31) "Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 6:30-31 את CEPHER
Men don't despise theives, especially if he steals because he was hungry. Instead of offering that man some food, they stand by and watch him steal. Then they also stand by and watch him get caught. And if he is caught he must repay sevenfold. He shall give whatever substance his house has.
(Proverbs 29:24) "Whoso is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and bewrays it not." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 29:24 את CEPHER
(Sirach 5:13-15) "Honor and shame is in talk: and the tongue of man is his fall. Be not called a whisperer, and lie not in wait with your tongue: for a foul shame is upon the thief, and an evil condemnation upon the double tongue. Be not ignorant of anything in a great matter or a small." SIRACH (ECCLESIASTICUS) 5:13-15 את CEPHER
Honor and shame is in talk. Speaking life or death. The tongue of man is his downfall. Don't be called a whisperer. Don't be whisperering and gossiping behind peoples backs. Foul shame is upon a theif and evil condemnation upon the double tongue. Those who say they love YaHUaH and serve him but, do otherwise. Like those who say they don't have to keep the Commandments and can continue to live a life of sin and debauchery. Do not be ignorant, lacking if knowledge, in any matter, small or great.
(Sirach 20:24-25) "A lie is a foul blot in a man, yet it is continually in the mouth of the untaught. A thief is better than a man that is accustomed to lie: but they both shall have destruction to heritage." SIRACH (ECCLESIASTICUS) 20:24-25 את CEPHER
A lie is a foul blot in a man. And it is continually in the mouth of the untaught. Untaught from what? The Torah of course! A theif is better than a man that lies but, don't let that fool you into thinking either is okay! Both still have their heritage on the road to destruction.
(1 Esdras 4:22-27) "By this also ye must know that women have dominion over you: do ye not labor and toil, and give and bring all to the woman? Yea, a man takes his sword, and goes his way to rob and to steal, to sail upon the sea and upon rivers; And looks upon a lion, and goes in the darkness; and when he has stolen, spoiled, and robbed, he brings it to his love. Wherefore a man loves his woman better than father or mother. Yea, many there be that have run out of their wits for women, and become servants for their sakes. Many also have perished, have erred, and sinned, for women." EZRA SHELIYSHIY (3 EZRA) 4:22-27 את CEPHER
This I included because I found it pretty interesting. Do men not know that women have dominion over them? Because they let them. Do you not labor and work hard and give it all to you woman? And kids? A man takes his sword and will steal, and kill, and sails on the seas hunting like a lion, and leads himself into darkness. Because he has robbed, and stolen, and he brings it all to his woman. A man loves his woman better than he loves his parents. Many have gone crazy for women and have become servants/slaves for their women. Many have also died, and erred, and sinned, for women. Look at Adam. He sinned because he saw Eve do it and nothing happened to her. So he decided it was okay and sinned right along with her.
Okay, up next we're going to read the Gospels. Messiah, YaHUsHa had a lot to say to the theives. I honestly could have found more but, to keep this short I just pulled a few.
(Matthew 6:19-20) "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust do corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust do corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 6:19-20 את CEPHER
(Matthew 19:17-19) "And he said unto him, Why do you call me good? there is none good but one, that is, Elohiym: but if you will enter into life, guard the commandments. He said unto him, Which? Yahusha said, You shall do no murder, You shall not break wedlock, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 19:17-19 את CEPHER
(Matthew 24:43-44) "But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of A'dam comes." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 24:43-44 את CEPHER
Remember brothers and sisters the theif comes to steal, and kill, and destroy. So watch and be ready that theif doesn't take you. That Satan doesn't take you. No one knows the day or hour which is why we must always be ready. At all times. If the Goodman had known the theif was coming he would have stayed up and watched and not suffered his house to have been robbed.
(Mark 10:17-19) "And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Rabbi, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Yahusha said unto him, Why do you call me good? there is none good but one, that is, Elohiym. You know the commandments, Do not break wedlock, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor your father and your mother." MARQUS (MARK) 10:17-19 את CEPHER
(Luke 12:32-34) "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you את the Kingdom. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." LUQAS (LUKE) 12:32-34 את CEPHER
(Luke 12:39-40) "And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of A'dam comes at an hour when ye think not." LUQAS (LUKE) 12:39-40 את CEPHER
(John 10:1-2) "AMEIN, Amein, I say unto you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that enters in by the door is the Shepherd of the sheep." YOCHANON (JOHN) 10:1-2 את CEPHER
This explains how Satan operates in a nutshell. He that doesn't enter by the door into the sheepfold is a robber. He that enters by climbing the fence or any other way than the door is a robber. And that is exactly how Satan works. He is a backdoor, climb the fence to get what you want kinda guy. Instead of coming to the Most High directly and praying about it, you use Satan. By lying, or cheating, or stealing, to get what you want. Think of how many people became rich and successful based on lies, and cheating. Back door.
(John 10:9-11) "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd gives his life for the sheep." YOCHANON (JOHN) 10:9-11 את CEPHER
There we have our answer. YaHUsHa is the door we enter by. By honoring his Word and guarding the Commandments. He is the Shepherd of the flock.
Lastly, let's learn what the Apostles said on the matter.
(1 Peter 4:15) "But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters." KEPHA RI'SHON (1 PETER) 4:15 את CEPHER
(2 Peter 3:10) "But the day of Yahuah will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." KEPHA SHENIY (2 PETER) 3:10 את CEPHER
This is why we must be watching and waiting brothers and sisters. Because this day is going to come as theif for those who aren't ready. It will be a day of hope and yeshu`ah (salvation) for those who have been waiting and fulfilling the Commandments.
(1 Thessalonians 5:2-4) "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of Yahuah so comes as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief." TASLONIQIYM RI'SHON (1 THESSALONIANS) 5:2-4 את CEPHER
Here Paul lays it out perfectly for us. That day comes as a theif in the night. And what did YaHUsHa say the theif came to do in John? You steal, and kill, and destroy. When they (the wicked leaders of the earth) say peace and safety sudden destruction will come upon them like a woman who is giving birth. Sudden. And they (the wicked) won't escape. But us, his children are not in darkness, so that day should not overtake us. But, deliver us to our Salvation.
(Romams 2:19-24) "And are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which have the form of knowledge and of the Truth in the Torah. You therefore which teach another, teach you not yourself? you that preach a man should not steal, do you steal? You that say a man should not break wedlock, do you break wedlock? you that abhor idols, do you commit sacrilege? You that make your boast of the Torah, through breaking the Torah do you dishonor Elohiym? For the name of Elohiym is blasphemed among the other nations through you, as it is written." ROMAIYM (ROMANS) 2:19-24 את CEPHER
(Romans 13:8-12) "Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the Torah. For this, You shall not break wedlock, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not lust; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the Torah. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our yeshu`ah nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." ROMAIYM (ROMANS) 13:8-12 את CEPHER
Love one another. Love is the fulfillment of the Torah. Gaurd the Commandments which teach us how to love. How to love YaHUaH with all our heart, mind, and soul. And how to love our neighbor as ourself. Paul also says, if there be any other Commandment it is breifly comprehended in what Paul is saying. Lile the dietary Laws and the Feast Days. Love your neighbor as yourself. Love works no ill will. It is time to awaken from our slumber, our salvation is nearer than believed. The day of YaHUaH is at hand! Cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light! And really quickly what is light?
(Proverbs 6:23) "For the commandment is a lamp; and the Torah is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 6:23 את CEPHER
(Ephesians 4:26-30) "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that has need. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the Ruach Ha'Qodesh of Elohiym, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." EPH'SIYM (EPHESIANS) 4:26-30 את CEPHER
Turn your ways and repent brothers and sisters! Sin not! Do not let the sun go down upon your anger. Do not allow Satan a place in your life for one more second! If you steal, steal no more. Help the theif get a job so that he may earn his money and steal no more, and that he may also give to those in need. Let no corrupt words proceed from your mouth. But, that which is good to the use of instruction. That it may minister grace to the hearers. Do not grieve the Ruach Ha'Qodesh. The Most High's Set-Apart Spirit. Do not resist it or push it away. Or the worst, DO NOT ignore it! By having his Spirit upon you is how you are sealed unto redemption! Remeber many are called, yet few are chosen.
(Revelation 3:3) "Remember את therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I will come upon you." CHIZAYON (REVELATION) 3:3 את CEPHER
(Revelation 16:15) "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watches, and guards his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." CHIZAYON (REVELATION) 16:15 את CEPHER
Amein brothers and sisters and Halleluyah! Praise YaHUaH for giving us his Word to understand his instruction for us. His Wisdom is the greatest gift! Stay tuned for the last 2 Commandments in Part 8 & 9!
