Expounding The Commandments Pt. 8
Guide #8: Expounding The 9th Commandment
Shalom! We are nearing the end of this guide! In this part of the guide we are going to expound on the 9th Commandment. Let's go ahead and reestablish that Command.
(Exodus 20:16) "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 20:16 את CEPHER
(Exodus 23:1) "YOU shall not raise a false report: put not your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness." SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 23:1 את CEPHER
(Deuteronomy 5:20) "Neither shall you bear false witness against your neighbor." DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 5:20 את CEPHER
(Deuteronomy 19:16-20) "If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong; Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before Yahuah, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days; And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother; Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shall you put the evil away from among you. And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you." DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 19:16-20 את CEPHER
This is the instruction on how to deal with a false witness. The two whom the altercation is between shall stand before YaHUaH, the judges and the priests and there shall be a diligent inquisition. A trial. And if it proves that the accuser is a false witness then you shall do unto him as he sought to do unto his brother. Put the evil away from among you. And those who witness this and hereafter, hear, fear, and commit no more evil among you.
(Enoch 95:5) "Woe to you, false witnesses, you who aggravate iniquity; for you shall suddenly perish." CHANOK (ENOCH) 95:5 את CEPHER
Now, let's have a look at what the Prophets said. We only have one verse from the prophets on this matter.
(Malachi 3:5) "And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against those who break wedlock, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, says Yahuah Tseva'oth." MAL`AKIY (MALACHI) 3:5 את CEPHER
This is once again talking about the end. That last great and fearfuk day of YaHUaH. YaHUaH will bring his judgement to this earth. He will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and those who break wedlock, and false witnesses, and those who oppress the laborer in his wages, the widow, the fatherless and the stranger who sojurns among them.
The Writings are next. The Writings had quite a bit to say about being a false witness. There is a lot of good instruction packed in here.
(Psalms 27:12-14) "Deliver me not over unto the will of my enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of Yahuah in the land of the living. Wait on El-Yahuah: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on El-Yahuah." TEHILLIYM (PSALMS) 27:12-14 את CEPHER
(Proverbs 6:19) "A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 6:19 את CEPHER
(Proverbs 12:17) "He that speaks truth shows forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 12:17 את CEPHER
(Proverbs 14:15) "The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well to his going." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 14:15 את CEPHER
(Proverbs 19:5) "A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall not escape." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 19:5 את CEPHER
(Proverbs 19:9) "A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall perish." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 19:9 את CEPHER
(Proverbs 21:28) "A false witness shall perish: but the man that hears speaks constantly." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 21:28 את CEPHER
(Proverbs 25:18) "A man that bears false witness against his neighbor is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow." MISHLEI (PROVERBS) 25:18 את CEPHER
(Susanna 1:48-49) "So he standing in the midst of them said, Are ye such fools, ye sons of Yashar'el, that without examination or knowledge of the Truth ye have condemned a daughter of Yashar'el? Return again to the place of judgment: for they have borne false witness against her." SHUSHANAH (SUSANNA) 1:48-49 את CEPHER
For those unfamiliar the book of Daniel at one point was comprised of 4 books. The Prayer of Azariah, Daniel, Susanna, and Bel and the Dragon. This book was included in the 1611 KJV and is included in the Septuagint. Due to the fact that these scriptures reveal to us that it is our elders, our teachers, fault that we have erred so terribly, and due to the prophetic accuracy of these books, our forefathers had them removed. The book of Daniel itself almost didn't make the cut, due the how on point accurate its prophecies are. Susanna was a beautiful girl. And there were 2 elders who lusted after her. So much so they were having fantasies about her. She came into her husband's garden one day and was taking a bath. The 2 elders saw their opportunity and begged her to sleep with them. And said if she didn't they were going to testify falsely against her that a young man had lied with her. She tells them no and of course they testified against her falsely. This is when Daniel hears all that is going on he says what we have above. Without examination or knowledge of the Truth you have condemned a daughter of Israel. As it is a Commandment to not swear falsely. If they hadn't forgotten the Torah they would have corrected themselves and not done this evil thing.
Now we're gonna get a look inside what our Messiah told us about bearing false witness. We're diving into the Gospels.
(Matthew 15:15-20) "Then answered Kepha and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. And Yahusha said, Are ye also yet without understanding? Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defiles not a man." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 15:15-20 את CEPHER
We talked about this in a previous portion of the guide. The Pharisee's were trying to accuse him for eating without doing their handwashing ritual first. As I stated previously, this wasn't as we do today to physically clean our hands. This was a ritual to spiritually cleanse themselves before they ate. Something that is not commanded in the Torah and is adding to the Most High's Word. Something we are Commanded not to do. YaHUsHa tells them a parable. Of which he is not speaking of food. He said whatsoever goes enters the mouth and goes into the belly and is cast out into the druaght. What ever doctrine enters you, doesn't matter. You will be known by your furits. The children had been hearing sound doctrine for centuries and they still rejected it, cast it out, killed the prophets. Let's keep going. What proceeds out of the man is what defiles him. What is in your heart. Evil thoughts, adultery, murder, fornication, theft, false witness, and blasphemies. Those are the things that defile a man. Eating with unwashed hands is not one of them.
(Matthew 19:17-19) "And he said unto him, Why do you call me good? there is none good but one, that is, Elohiym: but if you will enter into life, guard the commandments. He said unto him, Which? Yahusha said, You shall do no murder, You shall not break wedlock, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 19:17-19 את CEPHER
(Matthew 26:59-61) "Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Yahusha, to put him to death; But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the Temple of Elohiym, and to build it in three days." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 26:59-61 את CEPHER
We'll dive more into this in a minute. Here is what the False accusers are referring to.
(John 2:18-22) "Then answered the Yahudiym and said unto him, What sign show you unto us, seeing that you do these things? Yahusha answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Yahudiym, Forty and six years was this Temple in building, and will you rear it up in three days? But he spoke of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his Talmidiym remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Yahusha had said." YOCHANON (JOHN) 2:18-22 את CEPHER
The Temple had to be destroyed. Over and over again the children polluted the Most High's dwelling place. If you read the book of 2 Chronicles you see that cycle repeated over and over and over again. YaHUsHa said destroy this Temple. The one graven with human hands. And he will raise it in 3 days. Because upon YaHUsHa's rising the Most High didn't dwell among building made with human hands anymore. The Temple of Elohiym became within our bodies. Where we can receive the Ruach Ha'Qodesh individually. For those who truly desire it. When YaHUsHa was raised on that 3rd day his Disciples remembered what he said and they believed the Scriptures about him and the words which he spoke.
(Mark 10:18-20) "And Yahusha said unto him, Why do you call me good? there is none good but one, that is, Elohiym. You know the commandments, Do not break wedlock, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor your father and your mother. And he answered and said unto him, Rabbi, all these have I observed from my youth." MARQUS (MARK) 10:18-20 את CEPHER
(Mark 14:55-59) "And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Yahusha to put him to death; and found none. For many bore false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. And there arose certain, and bore false witness against him, saying, We heard him say, I will destroy this Temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. But neither so did their witness agree together." MARQUS (MARK) 14:55-59 את CEPHER
(Luke 18:19-20) "And Yahusha said unto him, Why do you call me good? none is good, save one, that is, Elohiym. You know the commandments, Do not break wedlock, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother." LUQAS (LUKE) 18:19-20 את CEPHER
And lastly, a few things from the Apostles.
(Acts 6:8-15) "And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Ruach by which he spoke. Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Mosheh, and against Elohiym. And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceases not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the Torah: For we have heard him say, that this Yahusha the Netseriy shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Mosheh delivered us. And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel." MA'ASIYM (ACTS) 6:8-15 את CEPHER
Stephen ended up being stoned to death. They bore false witness against him and spoke lies. Like YaHUsHa is going to physically destroy the Temple. Or that YaHUsHa was going to destroy the customs of Moses. Both lies. He didn't come to do either of those things. The verse previous to this he was just teaching Moses words. He told the rich prince if you want eternal life you know the Commandments. He also said "Think not that I come to destroy Mosheh and the Prophets."
(Romans 13:8-10) "Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the Torah. For this, You shall not break wedlock, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not lust; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the Torah." ROMAIYM (ROMANS) 13:8-10 את CEPHER
(1 Corinthians 15:12-17) "Now if Mashiach be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Mashiach not risen: And if Mashiach be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of Elohiym; because we have testified of Elohiym that he raised up Mashiach: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Mashiach raised: And if Mashiach be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins." QORINTIYM RI'SHON (1 CORINTHIANS) 15:12-17 את CEPHER
That concludes this section of the guide. Part 9 and the final section of this guide will be up next. Expounding on the 10th Commandment. 🌈
